Description

Escape the crowds of Venice to visit 3 tranquil islands of the Venetian Lagoon: Murano, Burano and Torcello. You will meet your Private Guide at the Fondamente Nove pier and enjoy a vaporetto ride through the blue waters of the Venetian Lagoon together. Sit back, relax and enjoy the panoramic views with live commentary. In less than 30 minutes you should reach the first island, Murano. This friazone of Venice is known as the “Island of Glass” due to its long glassmaking tradition, and you will have a chance to visit a local glass factory to learn about this old craft. Another point of interest will be the Basilica of Santa Maria e Donato. The next stop will be the charming Burano, which is one of the most photographed and painted places in Venice. Nearly all buildings on this island are painted in rich colors, creating a picturesque background for taking photos. There are also many little shops that sell handmade lace garments that are still made in a traditional way by local women. Last but not least, you will visit Torcello, an ancient island where the first inhabitants of Venice had settled in the year 452. Discover archeological monuments from the Roman period, the magnificent Basilica Santa Maria Assunta, the Church of Santa Fosca, Devil's Bridge, and the famous Attila's Throne.
